I miss George on my screen but it looks like he’s determined to remain there for he’s in projects I have no desires to watch. I can’t do Taiwanese dailies. Too long for my fish attention span. Happiness Meets Rainbow is his upcoming Chinese drama. The name makes me giggle: Happiness Meets Rainbow equals Unicorns in my book. Lol. It follows the sole bread winner of a family (Yedda Chen Yan Fei) as she juggles the responsibilities of putting food on the table and the games involved with the three men she encounters. Three men again??! Okay. Even though her educational background isn’t high, she’s described as cool, kind, and brave (er, those characteristics do not go along with education, mmmkay). Upon returning from study abroad, her fiancé (Tang Chen Yu) quickly ends their marriage, leaving her with a sick son to care for. She then meets architect Du Fan (George Hu) and the two fall in love. But then something happens and it tears them apart. They meet again years later and eventually end up as a couple.
So many creative ideas in this story! XD ……

Second male lead, Tang Chen Yu (TAE). Did you know that he’s a Thai actor with Chinese descent from his mother’s side? I first saw him in The Legendary Siblings 2 with Jimmy Lin and did not know this until years later.

He is. Born in New York and studied at St. John’s University before returning to Taiwan on a visit and was scouted by a talent agency.

…I recognize Yedda from somewhere, but I can’t for the life of me remember where I’ve seen her before. T.T Anyways. Not too interested in most Tdramas, and this isn’t really an exception. A very typical tdrama plot.
Wow St. John’s?! I didn’t end up applying to St. John’s but its teaching style is so unique. George must be really smart. They do this whole classics lit teaching system, where even for math and science, they learn through studying original work of like Euclid and stuff.

George’s parents still live in US and I don’t think he renounces his American Citizenship yet. Also, he went to Taiwan for vacation and end up scouted by a talent agency. When he first appear on #tdrama, he doesn’t even speak Chinese at all. He then learned Chinese from the scratch later on in order to get more important role in #tdrama. As for this specific drama, I think this is his first mainland drama as long as I recall it ^_^

he starred in Lan Ling Wang back in 2013! 🙂 so maybe this is his 1st C-drama as the main lead 😉

His first Mainland drama was actually with Wang Kai in Xin Shen Tan Lian Meng, but yes it’s probably his first time being the 1st male lead.

Idk. The thing is, I went and checked her wikidrama and wikipedia page, and I really don’t recall watching any of her works, supporting or not, but I swear I’ve seen her before, so…not sure.

Yedda is a solid actress. I loved her first in that drama with Jimmy Lin where she played Bamei, a tomboy. Then in Our Love, especially enjoyed her banters with the male lead. Then in Fiancee where she played Sandra Ma’s love rival, I disliked her character but she was so good at being the third wheel and scheming/selfish woman. Three very different characters but she managed them all so well. I don’t particularly seek out her dramas to watch but when I do watch them, she’s enjoyable.
I haven’t seen too much of George, to be honest. My strongest impression of him is from Lanling Wang and also from ToGetHer. He’s OK as a supporting actor and I haven’t watched him as a main lead in his TW dramas yet. Let’s see how he does here.
