New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Alrighty, it’s that time of the year again where Chinese Broadcasting stations fight to get the most popular artists to perform at their New Year Music Shows. I will try to add as many performances as possible! Check to see where your favorite stars went!

Happy New Year to all of our drifters! Looking forward to another prosperous new year on this ship. ~~~ ^___^ ~~~

From Dragon TV:

Zhao Li Ying performs four songs altogether (last one being “Happy New Year” with every star invited tonight.) You know I don’t feel Li Ying’s singing but tonight she does a really good job singing live! I’m impressed.

“Snowman” by herself. She looks so beautiful and the stage design blew me away. Like an angel. 🙂

“Stubborn” with Lay aka Zhang Yi Xing. Adorable.

“Ultimate Cinematic Challenge” with Lay and Show Luo.

Not Yet Available.

“When Wind Blows” – Hu Ge from Nirvana In Fire OST.

“June Rain” – Hu Ge from Chinese Paladin OST. OMG. Hu Ge!! One of my favorite songs of the soundtrack. >.<.

Hu Ge, Jin Dong and two veterans Wakin Chau and Jonathan Lee sing “True Hero.” This song….ah…

Jin Dong performs two contrasting songs.

“The Outside World.”

“Rock ‘n’ Roll on the New Long March.” This man kills me with the red guitar!!

Zhang Yi Xing‘s performance from the show. “Yi Xing” and “Miss You Much.”

“Tender Love” – Yang Yang. How can anyone sing being up so HIGH?!

“Uptown Funk” – Huang Xiao Ming.

“A Beauty’s Plan” – Victoria Song.

Boran Jing performs two songs “The Last Blossom” and “Phantom Lover”. Looking mighty strange and hot with the thick eyeliner.

“Da Wang Jiao Wo Lai Xun Shan (Surprise – Journey to the West OST)” – Jia Nai Liang and wifey Li Xiao Lu with their cute little daughter.

“We Like 2 Party” – Big Bang.

“My Type’ + ‘RHYTHM TA” – Korean boyband, iKON.

Phew, so many performances! I have a feeling Hunan TV hit the jackpot out of all 3 stations. They’ve got SO many big names and young, popular faces. I have to admit I was more engaged with their artists performances than with other artists on the other 2 stations lol. You can really feel the energy and vibrancy bought on by the young people in there. Dragon TV’s tone felt a little bit more subdued and seemed to be shorter. Zhejiang TV gave me the least incentive to watch since I’m not particularly interested in anyone that performed there lol.

Thanks so much for making this blog! I found it because of NiF and I’m so happy I did! There aren’t enough communities that focus on Cdramas out there and even less that have so many people to discuss with. You’re a hero Kaptain! I look forward to enjoying more of your work in 2016. Have a Happy New Year! 😀

LOL I agree with you. I checked out the different channels and settled on Hunan cuz of the all the big names and the fun and livelihood. Dragon TV was too serious for my tastes and Zhejiang didn’t have anyone I knew. Hunan was the most entertaining of the 3.

Cdramas communities are…quite quiet when you compare them to Kdrama ones. It’s okay, we’re growing! Hope to see you around! Happy New Year! ^_^

I’m no hero…just a girl with nothing better to do other than stalking celebrities and posting pictures. hehe.

I haven’t watched Jin Dong’s clips yet, but Hu Ge. Man. I’ve LOVED his singing from his first song for CP1 and on. Not only does he have an amazingly expressive voice for acting, he’s also one of the rare actors who are great singers in their own right.

    Haha. At least LiYing’s improving.

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

      Me too 🙂
I love Hu Ge’s voice. His diction is perfect and his singing is just so lovely on the ears 🙂

  7. 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

And I LOVE Hu Ge’s look! I hate turtlenecks (at least on me), but Hu Ge always pulls off turtleneck-suit combos so well! Can’t stop gushing. He’s so hot! And he sings so well live too!!!!

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

I think most of them were pre-recorded and then lip-synced… at least that’s what it seemed like to me.

With Hunan’s concert, almost everyone was lip-syncing except for the really pro singers like Han Hong, Zhang Jie, Jeff Chang, etc. who were singing live for real but also sounding awesome. (Some of the singers were also singing live but sounds not so good…)

Li Yifeng gets extra points for effort because he was acting singing live for real even though they were playing the recording in his second song – he was singing for real with extra effort in that song so that we could hear his live singing loud and clear LOL.

Hunan organizers arranged for most of the performers to be pre-recorded just for insurance … which I don’t blame them for since we can’t hold actors (who AREN’T professional singers) to the same standard as pro singers.

      • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

        * extra points for effort because he was singing live for real

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

The Dragon TV performances sounded like lip-syncing to me too, but anyway, like I said, can’t judge actors’ singing ability on the same basis as pro singers 🙂

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

LOL they played the Nirvana in Fire theme song straight from the soundtrack! 😀 C’mon Dragon TV, at least Hunan actually made them do a recording with a different arrangement for the concert!

And I dunno about you guys but when I watched the whole Dragon TV concert from their official channel, all the songs’ audio and the performer’s lip-syncing was off by at least a second. The only time the mouth movements and the audio is in sync is when they’re talking on the microphone LOL

      • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

IKR! The exact song from the soundtrack for Hu Ge’s NiF. What’s the point?! I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry haha.

        • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

LOL that was my reaction too – I was like, “C’mon guys, at least TRY to make it convincing!” 🙂 Well at least it was nice just seeing Hu Ge 🙂 but then again I’m probably biased cuz I just like the guy in general hahaha

Hunan had the benefit of getting the performers to interact with the fans more, do dance routines (or magic tricks LOL), play some games for comic relief, etc. – it wasn’t just standing on stage and singing. The variety in activities made the show more entertaining and fun. Like, nobody expects something spectacular so Hunan just went with “fun!” as the focus, which I think worked quite well (judging from the ratings at least)

      • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Lol guys. Doesn’t matter. I was fooled. 😀

        • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

LOL it doesn’t matter as long as you liked it and had fun 🙂
I realized early on that the Hunan performances were mostly pre-recorded but still didn’t stop me from enjoying the show, so yeah, the important thing is just enjoyment 🙂

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Hua Chenyu was singing live too and he sounded pretty good 🙂

  8. 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Happy new year Kap! Thank you for posting all those videos from all broadcasting stations. I would say each station has at least 2 or 3 big named stars.

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Thanks! Hunan always snatches the biggest and most stars since they’re the big gun in airing dramas. Actors have to give them face when receiving invitations. XD

  9. 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

    Happy New Year Kappy! 🙂

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Thanks thanks! Happy New Year! I see you have changed your avatar. Lol.

LOL yes. I found my new loveeeee <3

  10. 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

THanks for HU GE’s upload. I love him for 10yrs now. My friend just told me he goes to his restaurant in Shanghai often for dinner!!! My friend is the head Chef there. And Hu Ge is a very nice guy. Told him to get a autograph next time for me. I am based in UK too far to ask or stalk him……
Love his new hairstyle. Much better than the others.

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Can I be….good friends with your friend hohliu? LOL. Head Chef!! I’m planning a trip to China with a few friends in two years! I hope it goes through!

  11. 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Thanks Kappy! Definitely bookmarking this page for later/repeat viewing! 🙂

Liu Tao is so handsome in her suit and tango/dance routine and so shuai out of this world <3 she's seriously gonna convert straight girls …

LOL Nick's segment amuses me to no end. He seemed nervous but he pulled off the act really well and the magic trick was really fun! Also I liked the creative way they rearranged the song cuz let's face it, no-one besides 雨神 himself can do this epic song (actually one of my all-time favorites) justice, and especially in a live performance.

I need to watch JD and HG's performance once I get the chance cuz rock music rulz 🙂

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

I definitely give points for effort too. heehee!

Liu Tao is so adorable and like you said Shuai all the way!

  12. 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Zhang Jie’s voice is just..so amazing. Fell in love with him in I Am Singer…so awesome. His cover of Hello was breathtaking. *LOVE*

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Dude had perfect English diction and sang the song without lowering the key (for an ADELE SONG LIKE HOLY SHIT HOW AWESOME IS THAT), and with on-point pitch control! OMG! His singing was my favorite of the night! 🙂

Jeff Chang’s singing was the most emotionally moving (and damn he sounds good live). I liked Hua Chenyu’s medley too for some reason … probably cuz of the music style 🙂 Nick’s one was heaps fun and Liu Tao’s one was just so shuai LOL. Huang Xiaoming’s not much of a singer but he was just so entertaining and a natural showman 🙂

  13. 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Happy New Year, voyagers !!! 🙂 All the best for 2016!
Thank you, Kappy, for sharing all these videos so fast. You’re the best! :))))

Also, China has awesome NY shows. The shows in my country were really boooring.
Aaaand do JD and HG come as some sort of a package deal?! Like pay for HG, get a JD cameo and vice versa. They are always together during these events…

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

haha. Poor Nick has to be a lonely Wang Fei at Hunan. LOL!

      • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

LOL Nick had good sis Liu Tao with him at Hunan, so he wouldn’t have been lonely 🙂
Also his other friend Huang Xiaoming was there 🙂

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

LOL haven’t you heard? JD said at his birthday celebration that Hu Ge is like a real brother to him 🙂
His exact words were “Hu Ge is like a 亲弟弟”

  14. 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Happy new year everyone!! Thank you so much for this post! Hehe I only watched the Dragon TV and Hunan ones. Some reason I really like Huang Xiao Ming’s performance lol best from the Hunan one, Wank Kai and Liu Tao were entertaining as well! And I enjoy all of Huge and Jin Dong performance from Dragon TV.

  15. 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Jin Dong…being cute. Ripped this fancam from weibo. He saw a fan recording. SO SWEET!

    • 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

      Jin Dong is PRECIOUS <3

  16. 38 thoughts on “New Year Music Shows From Various Chinese TV Stations

Oh brilliant, thanks for posting this. I really need to look up the lyrics to the song Kai Kai sang. It might be sung to his Wang Fei but until I understand it, it’s just gonna be a very average song (albeit sung by a pretty talented funny man).
