Time to catch up…!

——> ♦ Stills of our OTP – Wang Li Kun and Luo Jin – in The Gods. Still disappointed Chen Xiao passed up this opportunity and went back to Yumama. Wang Li Kun looks stunning but someone went overzealous with the photoshop brush for Luo Jin. He’s unrecognizable!

Wang Li Kun as is Da Ji, a beautiful concubine of King Zhou, who is possessed by an evil fox spirit and causes the downfall of the Shang dynasty. I think we all know this story very well.

Our hero Luo Jin as Yang Jian, often seen in creative works as Erlang Shen, the God with the third eye on his forehead and wanted to punish our Monkey King in various TV adaptations.

——> ♦ First trailer for Lin Gen Xin‘s God of War Zhao Yun with Yoona, Kim Jung Hoon, Godfrey Gao, etc. Some stills of their press conference as well. Too much focus on the love story….are we not talking about how Zhao Yun came to be a notable warrior, writers?!!

Godfrey looks good, convincing as a general.

This armor could crush Jia Qing!

——> ♦ Hu Ge‘s spy drama, The Disguiser, completed filming after four long months. Same producer and director of Nirvana in Fire and Battle of Changsha. That should whet your appetite! New Stills below.

Trailer & Themesong:

——> ♦ Hawick Lau and Zheng Shuang‘s palace drama, Chronicle of Life, begins filming some days ago. The story follows Emperor Kangxi and is a drama adaptation of the novel by Fei Wo Si Cun (Sealed with a Kiss). This is Zheng Shuang’s first Qing drama. I don’t know, this author and her tragic/torturing love stories are not my cup of tea. The male leads from Destined to Love You, Jia Nai Liang and Bosco Wong were there as part of Tong Hua’s leading men so far in her various novel-to-drama projects. They stole the limelight right under the nose of the main OTP. Lol.

——> ♦ Is anyone watching The Wife’s Lies? Apparently, the ratings beat out HunanTv’s previous monstrous hit, The Empress of China. This came as a a surprise because the leads are not famous stars and the drama was lowly budgeted. This can only be good for the main couple – Jia Qing and Zhang Xiao Long.

 photo Cnews9 38.jpg

 photo Cnews9 39.jpg

——> ♦ Peter Ho and Victoria Song‘s Beautiful Secret wrapped up filming last week. Whew. Don’t ask me why she’s wearing an apple costume. Maybe that’s part of Peter’s star-training program.

Funny how the promotional materials are using the former title now, One Minute More, instead of the generic Love Me Love My Dog. Peter Ho, Janine Chang, and Mr. Golden Retriever as our OT3!

Shorter News:

——> ♦ Zhao Li Ying wrapped up her scenes for The Legend of Zu and will immediately start filming The Rise of A Tomboy aka Perfect Lover for a Tomboy aka When will this movie stop changing its name?!! The movie is only given a short time to film… She should have rested instead taking on another project! Because she will start a new drama in June too..Sigh. The male lead…..is Zhang Han. Yep. He changed his mind and decided to be in this movie after all. The second male lead…. is Jung Il Woo (The Night Watchman). WHAT. So random?!!

——> ♦ Wallace Huo‘s drama, When He Comes Close Your Eyes, is still without a leading lady. So picky, eh? They reveal that they won’t be changing the details of the novel. Interesting. How far will they go with the gore?

——> ♦ Chinese Movie, Three Dads, with Run Brother‘s Jerry Lee and Ryan Zheng. Compiled Trailer + Clips:

——> ♦ Kimi Qiao might reunite with Chen Qiao En in a new ancient drama, and of course, it’s a remake of a novel. It has a game version too. If all goes well, filming begins some time in May.

——> ♦ Rumor on weibo is that Tang Yan might be filming a romantic comedy with Aaron Kwok. Who knows… She’s another busy worker in C-Ent.

OMG. Aaron Kwok with Tang Yan? Give me anything with Aaron Kwok and I will watch it! please!! I saw him in Wind and Cloud I (HK movie) and he was p.e.r.f.e.c.t. Gosh.
Also, very disappointed to learn Chen Xiao was supposed to play Yang Jian, although to be fair, he doesn’t have the physique to play such a role. 😛 Hope Luo Jin will do well. I don’t know much about Wang Luo Dan, but she doesn’t look very Daji ish to me… Really hope this drama won’t flop. Any drama with Yang Jian as the main character will be my jam 😛

I have a bit of a special place for Aaron Kwok because he and I share a birthday, and if Hillary Clinton wins the next Presidential Election then I will also share the same birthday with the First Woman U.S. President.^ ^

I have to totally agree with you Woda168. Aaron… and Ekin… were AMAZEBALLS in Storm Riders not so much for its sequel Storm Warriors which fell short to success on the big screen, while my Peter Ho hubby, as Cloud, was AWESOME in the small screen version too.

Oh G.Gao, I stalk his I/G – the only one I do, and I don’t really know why, and my baby girl, Kamu (Calm in Japanese), is checkin’ out Gao’s white pom badboytheo’s I/G. Haha~

Omg, you are so lucky!! You will get far in life (if you believe in astrology of course)! Meantime, I have like no one on my birthday :'(
HAHA. I know! I loved that first movie that I even went to read the first part of the mangas (because if not, I wouldn’t understand much of the story). Storm Warriors’ story was just not as cool as the first one :3 Peter Ho was great in the TW drama version! – although I feel like he was cosplaying half of the time (let’s blame the poor production team on this). I really wish they could produce a new drama adaptation of the story ^^

G.Gao = Godfrey Gao? Badboytheo? I don’t really check his instagram.. so didn’t caught your references 😛

*Sigh* Evil fox lady stories are so overdone at this point… I really feel like they’re getting too bad a rap. They need to drop the trope for some time now.

They made Lin Gen Xin look too old… he looks like an old uncle, esepecially next to Yoona. Godfrey looks hella perfect though. He fits imperial general to a T. Even Jia Qing looks badass when she strikes a pose and tries not to be feminine.

Murmur of the heart looks so pretty, some of the stills look Wong Kar-Wai-ish…

Chronicle of Life I’m skipping altogether. Fei Wo Si Cun’s anything is pointless heartache. But dude, what is UP with those pedal pushers?

Isn’t the Wife’s Lies second girl the one who’s coming on the chinese WGM? What’s the wife’s lies even about?

The dog movie looks like an extended doggie-products ad cm XD

Aaron Kwok omg… my whole childhood… now I feel like going and doing a re-watch of his shows, since I remember so faintly about any of them. Any recommendations?

The Wife’s Lies is a remake of Korean drama: My Daughter is Seo Young. She lied about her background and he found out about those lies…As far as I know. Lol. And yesh, that’s Xu Lu, Kimi’s girlfriend on We Are in Love. 🙂

      • 13 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (9)

I watched the trailer and I don’t like it at all. My Daughter, Seo Young is very well done, so that will just be my favorite.

Your comment about Kimi made me think about the couples in We’re in Love again…Siwon/Liu Wen is growing on me — and I wonder if it has to with the other couples all being actor-actress pairings, so there is more of an underlying “are you just doing this to promote all of your other tv/movie projects” suspicion. I mean, when Kimi says he is most compatible with Chen Qiao En in the last episode, you wonder if it’s because he’s thinking of the next project with her. And Gui Gui coming on and mentioning the movie she just filmed with Kimi…isn’t that just trying to promote the movie?

At least with Liu Wen, she clearly is not using the show to help promote her next campaign or anything like that. P.S. her Met ball dress was GORGEOUS, no!?!

Wang Likun looks beautiful and Luo Jin…well, he has looked better elsewhere. :p I’m happy for a mini Schemes of a Beauty reunion though. (That’s the only Yumama production I managed to like so far.) Just hoping for a good script.

I keep seeing the teasers for Murmur of the Hearts. I hope a North American distributor picks it up so I can watch it in the theaters. Love, love the posters.

    DEM PAWS. That is all.

Makes me happy to know that they aren’t changing the details to When He Comes Close Your Eyes. The gore is part of the charm. 😉

ZLY <3 I’m glad that she has wrapped up filming Zu.

Tang Yan is a workaholic. I love her but she really, really needs to slow it down.

    • 13 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (9)

Tang Yan, Hawick Lau, Zhao Li Ying are like the top workaholic right now. Tsk Tsk Tsk.

Sorry, can you clarify one thing for me if it’s possible?

so, about the c-drama PRINCESS OF LANLING KING, this time, the heroine will end up with the guy who plays the role of Yu Wen Yong? :T I read your latest posts about the drama and it sounded like it is true. So the second lead girl will be with the prince of Lan Ling?? So the main lead girl won’t be with the prince (the who uses the mask) this time? O.O Seriously? *o*

“Remember how much we hated the second lead girl in King of Lan Ling? Well, well, well. Looks like it’s gonna be ugly this time as well because the stills suggest that our Prince (Andy Chen) does return her feelings… O_O!!”

    • 13 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (9)

Lol. I will clarify this in my upcoming Gallery for Princess of Lan Ling. Don’t worry!

Congrats to Alec Su! According to the Guardian, “The Left Ear” was the only non-Hollywood movie in the top 10 global box office for the weekend of April 24-26 (it ranked 3. Not too shabby, eh? :)). Not sure how it went last weekend, but it definitely is a good start for his directing career.

Also, the first English review on Variety! 🙂 http://variety.com/2015/film/asia/the-left-ear-review-alec-su-rao-xueman-1201486411. Here’s hoping for more reviews as it enters the US market this week!
