Kris Wu casts opposite Liu Yi Fei in So You’re Still Here

Looks like Kris Wu is looking to be recognized as a film actor, he’s been receiving offers left and right. Boy knows how to make the right connections in this world. Just short of wrapping up his movie, Lao Pao Er, with Li Yi Feng [first mentioned in the news batch here], he has locked another project with the beautiful Liu Yi Fei in a film adaptation of the novel, So You’re Still Here, by Xin Yi Wu. The same author for the film adaptation, So Young, directed by the lovely Vicki Zhao.

What’s the premise…. Well, not like we haven’t heard or seen the tribulations of first love before. With opposite personalities and bacground, these two adolescents are drawn toward each other at the time of their youth but misunderstandings and inexperience tore them apart. Our heroine finds herself pregnant shortly after. What will happen to her and her child? Years later, will their love be rekindled? Filming begins late March/early April.

This girl is just stunning. Her acting has improved in For Love or Money but its not that great of a leap where she could guide another inexperienced actor like Kris Wu. Both of them seem to be in the same pool of deficiency when it comes to emoting….

If all else fails….we have plenty of pretty to look forward to. 😛

i read this novel. i like the first half of the story but the rest was sooo.. so-so. but YingNiang. the translator for this novel did a great job so i could imagine this and that after reading some ‘important’ chapters. lols kidding..
i cant imagine Kris as Cheng Zheng.. and well, i dislike Yun Jin’s character. very much! lols..

but better give it a try since Kris getting handsome day by day, lols

Meh, not a fan of Liu Yi Fei, but I haven’t seen her in anything lately (mainly because I avoided her since she scarred me eons ago with her onscreen performance). Maybe I’ll give it a shot; at least they are pretty =\

I’m trying hard not to react negatively to this news but honestly I’m kind of failing. LYF, known for years for her stone-cold acting, may have improved considerably in For Love or Money but she’s not at the calibre where she can lead a new, inexperienced actor and every glimpse I’ve seen of Kris (in MVs, I’ll admit) hints that he’s both wooden and likely unable to act. In other words, this movie is being cast for looks. Hopefully I’ll be proven wrong by both actors, but for now at least I’m keeping my expectations way down.

Yes, keep it low. Projects like these only look for big and popular names. Unfortunately…
