Shun Oguri and Toma Ikuta reunite for Ouroboros in Jan 2015

I’ll always use this picture for their future collaborations. heehee!!

If you could see my face, it’s a mixture of horror and happiness. I have enough planned projects as it is in Cdramaland and when I scrolled down the list of upcoming Winter Jdramas, I was like Oh Krappppp (at least 3 projects I want to take on.) The two darlings (well, one crazy kid) that we adored so much in Hanazakarino kimitachihe are reuniting in a police drama, Ouroboros ~ Kono Ai Koso, Seigi, airing on January 16th. Before we get to that, the two are invited for a photoshoot themed FRIENDS. Yea, like we dunnnnooo already. 😛

Synopsis from Jdramas: Ryuzaki Ikuo (Ikuta Toma) and Danno Tatsuya (Oguri Shun) are orphans who grew up in an orphanage called Mahoroba no Ie. When they were elementary school students, Kashiwaba Yuiko (Hirosue Ryoko), an orphanage staff who took care of them like an older sister, was killed by someone before their very eyes. The two of them gave statements to the police, but their words were by squashed by a police official with a gold watch and the case was also covered up for some reason. 15 years later, Ikuo has become a detective. Skilled at catching whiff of cases, he has the highest rate of arrests in his police precinct. On the other hand, Tatsuya has risen to the top of the underworld as a leading member of an organised crime group. A police and a gangster with only each other to trust. The objectives of these two people who should never have any association, are to locate the gold watch man within the police, find out the truth and expose the darkness of this all powerful organisation.

I love the premise, two opposing forces working together for one common cause while ducking away from scrutiny from their co-workers and bros? I’m in. Did I mention the talented Juri Ueno is also partaking in the series as a detective? I’m afraid for her! If they waste her talents being a cookie-cutter character, I’ll throw something! BURRRRRRRRRR.

Shun doesn’t look like himself in the poster (the hair + glasses!), a quick glance and I thought it was Shunsuke Daito. Lol.

The drama has not started but they are already putting on their serious poker faces!

    Definitely watching this! 😀

And I havent seen the posters, but when you mentioned it and I went back up to take a look, Shun really looks a lot like Shunsuke Daito there!

Which are the other 2 dramas you have your eyes on, Kap? 😀

Shunsuke and Shun could play brothers with straight gelled-back hair + glasses and no one would question their DNA. They even have the same name!

Hard to resist Mao and her ancient F4 in Hanamoyu. 😎

Mondai no Aru Restaurant looks like a pretty interesting series for us ladies and written by a fantastic writer.

Curiosity is peaked for the following: Zannenna Otto, Second Love, Dakara Kouya, Kageri Yuku Natsu.

I just squealed so loud~~ my squishy babies making a live-action of one of my mangas~~ *screaming intensifies* They look so adorable together~ They should find a way to throw in MastuJun as well.. he must be feeling left out XD I don’t like the hairstyle on Shun, but at least it’s accurate to the manga (which can be read in english here btw: http://mangapark.com/manga/ouroboros)

I’m excited about Mondai no Aru Restaurant as well!!! Also looking forward to Tenno no Ryoriban (Emperor’s Chef) since it has Sato Takeru (the boy refuses to rest…). Hmm what else… Onii-chan Gacha (Big Brother Vending Machine) which sounds cute and whimsical. Oh, and Ryusei Wagon, which has that guy from Strawberry Night in it (I think)

Watching Mondai too! Honestly, my way of picking dramas to watch is first by who I like, then by the plot. Real superficial, I know. xD

Sato Takeru’s in a drama next season?! Time to start reading up synopsis and the casts properly. 😀

@kxyz Hahah, that’s completely fine… I find myself doing the same thing.. the number of questionable things that I’ve watched because a fav was in it *sigh*

But seriously though, this is *our* entertainment, we should watch whatever we like, for whatever shallow reason. It’s not school or something where you have to read/write/watch something which you have no interest in XD

@Yui ooh tha show completely slipped my radar…. marathon time soon XD

Ikuta’s getting hot and handsome.. suddenly his eyes remind me of Jin Yi Han (My Secret Hotel, Empress Ki). After Dear Sister, i’ll get this hot boys. yoohoo.. but now, im still waiting for the ending of N No TameNi. highly recommended 🙂

      N no Tameni!

YES! Truth be told, I started watching it more because I like the singer of the theme song for the drama than the plot. Lol. But the first episode had me gripped, and I always watched it as soon as the subs are out. Cant wait to see how the story ends!

      • 17 thoughts on “Shun Oguri and Toma Ikuta reunite for Ouroboros in Jan 2015

indeed. first episode was really good. the mystery, friendship, family, love.. every character has their own secret and reason to do something. im curious, who killed those family? which N? lols..
have you watched dear sister? it’s typically family story.. but i enjoyed watching it 🙂

IKR. It really wasnt on my list on dramas to watch at all, but my Japanese friend said that it’s actually really good and so I started on it. And love it! The N part is indeed intriguing.Subs for the last ep are out! Been busy watching the Japanese music/countdown shows. xD

Yes I did! It was also wasnt on the list of dramas I wanted to watch too. Because I ended up not liking Ishihara Satomi very much after Shitsuren Chocolatier. But damn! It was actually really good! I was actually just watching it online but I liked it enough to start downloading it to keep. The love between the sisters. TAT

What others did you watch this season? For me, Gomen ne Seishun, Nobunaga Concerto, Kyou wa Kaisha Yasuminasu and Subete F ni Naru.

Was Shitsuren Chocolatier really that bad? I mean, I didn’t watch the show, I’ve only read the manga, so I could see why you wouldn’t like the character, but to stay away from the actress as well.. oh well, we all learn by getting a little burnt I suppose~

I do like how it’s the very end of 2014 and it’s only now that I’m finding out where I should’ve wasted my time. That somehow sums my life up perfectly.

Give me your recs guys, and maybe I can compile them into a Things You Should’ve Watched list ^^

        • 17 thoughts on “Shun Oguri and Toma Ikuta reunite for Ouroboros in Jan 2015

@nutella bad = storywise. Jun’s my bias of all time but I didnt understand what kind of production they were expecting that show to be. It rang true with many Jun/Arashi fans too. I think most of us ended up just watching it because of Jun. Jun and Kiko’s scenes though. Way sweet!!

How much I like or dislike an actor/actress depends very much on the character they’re playing. Lol. So I guess she did a good enough job because it was actually the character I really disliked. Just half an hour into the FIRST episode, I already felt like strangling her. Hahaha. It was a complete turn for me with the actress in Dear Sister though. Her character was real lovable there.

You asked for it! Here’s my list:

          From Winter:
          Boku no Ita Jikan
          Dr MAT

          Spring:
Bitter Blood (which I had already uploaded here.)
          Border
          Alice no Toge

          Summer:
Petero no Souretsu (This is actually a continuation of Namonaki Doku, which I found really boring. This second series totally had me gripped, I love it. Might have to watch the first season for a basis though.)
ST~ Aka to Shiro no Sousa File
          Dousousei
          Hirugao
          Kazokugari
Oyaji no Senaka (just a few episodes though. It’s a standalone story in each episode.)

          Fall:
          Nobunaga Concerto
          Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu
          Dear Sister
          N no Tameni
          Gomen ne Seishun!

Yelp. That’s quite a long list. And to think not everything I’ve watched is here. In fact, there are even more dramas I’d like to have watched but couldnt because of certain circumstances.

        • 17 thoughts on “Shun Oguri and Toma Ikuta reunite for Ouroboros in Jan 2015

gave up on that juns drama like in the second episode. Jun is not an actor that compels. Hes average ans rhe storyline was so bad andly structured too.

Havent seen a good jdrana in a while. Taxi had an interesting premise though. Not thay great but decent.

        • 17 thoughts on “Shun Oguri and Toma Ikuta reunite for Ouroboros in Jan 2015

wow @kxyz you watched many doramas.. i just watched Dear Sister and N No Tame Ni. and just finished watching it last night. great storyline..

i dont really like ‘noona-dongsaeng’ love story.. i dont know what it’s called in Japanese.. Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu is a pass for me. Im sorry Youth seems good, but i havent had time to watch it.. and Nobunaga, im tired of seeing Ogurin as a high school student.. even some of my friends recommended it to me, but.. let’s see..

do you watch kdrama? so i recommend you to watch Healer and punch. for current airing kdramas, that two dramas are my fave. others just.. typical kdrama lols.. sorry kdrama lovers 😀

@nutella Shitsuren Chocolatier was BAD meaning BAD. i like Jun since his Gokusen era. and still like him until now. but Shitsuren Chocolatier was his bad choice in his career. just like @mindy i also stopped watching it on 2nd episode.

but Ogurin and Ikuta’s new dorama.. i have to watch it.. i hope it” be good since all the actors are my fave 🙂

Shallow? Then I must be number one on the list. Lol. We use our precious free time to watch dramas, might as well watch something that we like. 😀

Winter 2015 looks quite good already in Jdramaland. Wooo~

    • 17 thoughts on “Shun Oguri and Toma Ikuta reunite for Ouroboros in Jan 2015

ikr? maybe we should make a jdrama list as well… although I always suffer while live-watching jdramas because of the longer wait for subs *sigh*

      • 17 thoughts on “Shun Oguri and Toma Ikuta reunite for Ouroboros in Jan 2015

        Do make one. Hehe.

The longer wait depends on who the subbers are though. Some are REAL fast! And yes, definitely go watch N no Tameni! This subber, for example, is one of the really fast ones.

Wow ! can’t wait for this ! All these years i’ve been wanting them to collaborate in dramas/movies again XD
