Rainie Yang returns to the small screen with Love at Second Sight

Because if you didn’t see him/her clearly the first time, make sure you gettttt a good look the second time around.

Man, the lead couple does not reflect their age….fairly. O_O

Synopsis: Rainie Yang plays a wedding planner. She believes in true love and has successfully arranged 99 winning weddings. In comes Ryan Cheng who is an online love expert. He is described as rational and cold, having been through a rough childhood with his divorced parents. He insists that love needs to be logical and practical, and the couple has to pass the test of time to remain happily together. He may be called a love expert but he’s also the master of break-ups, assisting couples in determining their compatibility through investigations and tests.

Stills:

Rainie is born in 1984. She looks like a baby.

Trailer:

  • Great Stuff. I don’t know about you guys but this is one of the few Cdrama trailers that didn’t jump from comedy to melo in a flick second. It’s one heck of an impressive trailer, showcasing the obstacles that our characters face and how each one is too emotionally traumatized to move on. I love it!
  • I also love the concept of our twisty premise. She wants to love-match everyone, while he insists on backfiring her plans. And he is her customer???!!!
  • While having the mature look, Ryan Cheng appears much younger in motion. The other cast members include Ji Ning, Michael Zhang, and Chan Zui Hua (the pregnant woman in trailer).
  • Screenwriter is Liu Rue Xuan (Home 1945), and director is Ke Han Chen (The Outsiders, Down with Love).
  • Love at Second Sight has 30 episodes and will premiere on August 5th on HunanTV. (Yay! July Curse is over!)

Even though he does improve with motion… but still… they don’t feel like a couple.

Rainie is blessed, seriously… also, YAY no dubbed voices~ But the while thing seems melo to me, aka not my cup T_T

Hehe Kappy’s July curse is broken (perhaps only because they don’t have that many days left in July XD)

It will be a test to his acting if he’s able to persuade us that he’s a couple with Rainie in the drama then! 😀

Don’t you like the recent trend Nuttie? No more dubbed voices in Cdramas. Did they run out of money to hire professional voice actors? Did they read our raging comments? I don’t care, I’m a happy fangirl. Real voices FTW!

Funny how they advertise Love at First Second Sight as a comedy when the trailer carries a different tone!

LOL! A few dramas did premiere but I ain’t gonna talk about them! 😎

I think they only dub voices if it’s a historical/period Cdrama, because in period dramas characters would all be speaking standard Mandarin and not have a non-standard accent, according to stuff I read before about dubbing.

With modern dramas, most of the time they just leave the original voices unless their accents are so strong they need to be dubbed.

methinks something is definitely in the water shimo! b/c the modern cdramas that we have watched over the past years all have dubbing, even when the actors are from china. but lately, the cdramas are not dubbed, which has been a surprise to all of us. rainie is a taiwanese actress so she should’ve been dubbed because of the strong taiwanese accent, but she is not, which is weird cause she was dubbed before, like qiao en, wallace chung, and numerous other tw actors and actresses.

at the end of the day, iim just happy to have real voices. because dubbed voices in modern cdramas are the most annoying thing!!

Rainie looks really mature with side-swept bangs, still not old enough to be OLDER than the lead actor though. I think he rigged his profile!!! 86? Yea right!

The ex gf in the trailer is creepy. She wants to keep the baby to have a connection with him? Even after they have broken up? Crazy.
