I find it funny how they listed the day of its release (sat).
I remember being excited about this news months ago. Now that I saw the trailer, I just wanted to sue the hairstylist! How could you ruin this man’s perfect face with a mop of squiggly whatchucalledthemthings?! It doesn’t frame his face very well… And how much weight did he lose? He looks like a starved vampire. Anyway, enough harping on the obvious. The movie is a loosely adaptation of Yana Toboso‘s popular manga series Black Butler. I said loosely because there are significant changes (the hair!), okay, okay, fine, fine. I didn’t watch the anime (2 episodes!) so I have no idea what’s different but birdies around have voiced that the setting is now in 2020 with the rich kid being played by a female (Ayame Goriki).
For those who aren’t familiar with the premise, Hiro plays a demonic butler, Sebastian Michaelis, whose perfection in knowledge, grace, and power, are used to serve his master, Genpou Shiori (Ayame Goriki). The eye patch on her right eye is the seal of their contract. He will serve her, but he will also possess her soul. That’s all I know. 😀

Louis Kurihara as Undertaker J. Ooohh. I like this getup. Kinda like Johnny Depp’s in Alice in Wonderland.

I believe that hair is normally Hiro’s look, right? I have a close friend who leaves his hair same length. He just won’t change his look, although it is a hot look on him but I’ve known him for 10+ yrs and he doesn’t change. Who really knows? Maybe a superstition? Cutting the hair will ruin Hiro’s lucky streak? Or maybe the lil’ wife won’t be happy at home if he changed? Shame, I think he’s unprofessional not sacrifice the hair for the role? He does have an immortal appeal in those pitch black posters where we can’t see the hair. Haha~ What was the director thinking not commanding Hiro to chop off the hair, honestly?
Watching the trailer really didn’t do much for me, and I love vampire stories which tells you how disappointed I am already.

I have better styled hair than him, except for the beautiful features. For a man, he looks beautiful and exotic. Im not that way, btw.

I second your take on his overall look for this drama – as you can imagine how excited i was to have my Rihito back in drama/movieland, this was not what i had in mind. I’m not sure i’ll watch this – spare myself the heartache

Loosely adapted is an understatement and the only hairstyle they seemed to have stuck with is Ciel, sadly Sebastian is very lacking. His hair (sigh) Will I watch probably.like a train wreck
