Kappy: I did not watch the Korean version yet because its ratings beats Running Man so I’m being butt-hurt. 😛

Kidding aside, my friends are huge fans of the original version and have been anticipating the cultural differences with the new Chinese version, so I’m uploading the first few episodes for them. The Fathers are quite well-off. We have a director, ex-diver, model, and two actors (three because our former diver joined the entertainment scene after his retirement. He was in Beauties of the Emperor.)

Judging from the photos, the girls are adorable!

    LOL@being butt-hurt.

i have watched several episodes of the korean version, the kids are suppppppppeeeeeeeerrrrr cute. my favorites are hoo and junsu. least favorite is the little girl. her daddy needs to stop spoiling the little girl – carrying her everywhere they go. he’s a sportman but jia cries and bursts into tears whenever she loses. lol. i mean i thought she would get used to it by now… see what happens when you’re so protective of your child, they can’t take losses well. i know she’s a little girl but kids need to be taught when they are young no? this is just my opinion – i don’t mean to spank them okay? LOL

don’t have high hopes for subtitles. korean variety gets subbed because it’s in high demand but chinese dramas and variety shows – nope! shame!

  2. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

aw… Jimmy lin still baby-face and with his baby.

I do watch Appa but not as religious like I do with RM. It’s a bit repetitive and I tend to skip lots of parts. My fave kid really is Mingook’s brothers. hahaha But the kid-father relationship I like is Sung Joo and Mingook. I can relate so much to Jun though.

Too bad this version might not get subs, I’d check it out if there will be.

  3. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

The theme song is adorable! “Lao ba… bao bei…”

If I have to compare this version to the Korean version, right off the bat, these kids are more spoiled than the Korean kids. Maybe from the cultural differences too, that these kids have less etiquette in comparison. I frown upon that. OMG-sh, did the girls pick the eggplants without asking for permission? Major dislike if they act too casual there.

It’s unbelievable how Jimmy already has a 4 y.o. son. Is Jimmy a professional race car driver now?

At least these Chinese kids match quirks like their Korean sunbae-nims. The show should have a strong start like the pioneer show. I sorta had a fallout for Appa once the show became repetitious. Did the show ever change out some kids and dads? They should rotate the cast to add freshness.

Are you gonna watch this show, Kappy? Can we keep the title as “Variety” instead “Cvariety,” since you have “Chinese vers” at the end?

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

Your review is so cute! In fact, ‘ba bei’ is ‘ba bi’ .This is an oral speech sound of Taiwan 😀

  4. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

I don’t plan on watching either version as of now. Too little time.

I want to use the same method as we would use to categorize drama. I added Chinese version because my noobie friends were like, “What’s Cvariety?” They haven’t seen it before. It’s redundant but it helps since this is the first Chinese variety shows we’re doing. Just to clear the muddled minds of our friends. 😀

  6. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

I’ve watched the first two episodes and really like it. Probably cause I’m more familiar with Chinese ent. (Jimmy Lin!) I enjoyed it more than the original Korean version. The interactions felt very real. I liked it! Can’t wait until ep 3, looks like it’ll be fun. Anyone know how many episodes these father-child pairs filmed?

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

they leave the village and go to the desert. I think

      • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

you are right. And they wento YUNNAN, WEIHAI(a coastal city),HEILONGJIANG( a very cold city).

  7. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

I have to agree, the kids here seem more spoiled, but maybe the Korean version just edited out all the whining for tv, electronics, etc. There was some tears over giving up toys I remember in the kversion, but the kids here seem way too plugged into electronics.

This also seems more editorial then the korean version and at times overly sentimental, the attempts to pair up a kid couple, the sappy music that was playing in one scene. I think the korean version was more hands off, not trying to create moments, but just letting it happen. Part of it is that the kids seem very camera aware, like the little girl telling the cameraman to get her best angles.

Still, the kids are cute it’ll be interesting to see some of the dads develop more parenting skills. Jimmy seems the best father of the bunch, knows how to handle his kid.

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

I thought the kids were more spoilt too! But I suspect the Korean version of heavy, and clever, editing.

The kid couple: I thought this Chinese show was being funny about it, vs the Korean show which was surprised by it (and then milking it).

  8. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

what do you guys expect? these are a bunch of rich kids, richer than the Inheritors for sure! LOL what with fathers being long time actor, directors! gold medalist! of course they’re spoiled.

the korean version does try to create moments too, what’s with the love line btw hoo and jia. they are purposely paired up most of the times.

jimmy lin is close to his son, i remember reading an interview that he’s always with the boy. the fathers can’t cook just crack me up. kimi is cute and kinda introvert, good thing he made friends with the little girl. she’s like female Hoo! lols.

there is a subtitle? OMGGGGGGGGGG im amazed since i left a comment saying there wasn’t gonna be one. am surprised!

  9. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

What is the title of the song? Thanks.

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

It’s the same name as the show. Will post it up in a bit.

Also, I would like to ask whether people like the 360p or 540p version. Uploading two versions is tiring. I personally like the 540p version cause it’s clearer and has less logo. It comes out 2-3 days later. Please drop me a note here. Majority decides.

  10. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

mmm..where can i download the song? Sorry Kaptain A, not really understand bout such thing. Vote for the better one. Hehe

  11. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

    can i ask,,,
is that episoden already have english subtitle?

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

You mean that you have watched the episode without English subtitle?! Can you konw what people say in it? You
just watch them and guess what they are saying? You may have lost a lot of fun! Maybe you can give me your Email, My English is so so but I think at least I can let you know what happening.

  12. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

Sky made me teary this week. Didn’t he protect Uncle Tian Liang and take the blame? (He lied and got caught, ha.) I love the way his tears were coming and he wiped them away, smiling and telling his dad that he’s okay. What a sweetheart.

    Real tears of a man!

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

He is the son I want one day. What a sweet kid.

  13. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

i like 340p version cz it has small size. just my opinion.

  14. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

I just watched episode 1. My gosh, the kids are so young. Kimi and Angela are only 4?!! Why did they pick them at such a young age? I want to see them wander on their own but I would see why the parents are worried when the kids are still using milk bottles. LOL Cindy and Sky are 5 but that boy is so tall. I thought he was at least 8. Cindy is such a crybaby but I guess she turned around in the end, proving to be more reliable when her father isn’t around. Angela is such a princess. lol. Rock, the most obnoxious kid so far is the oldest. He needs a lot of discipline. The father can’t control him.

Thanks for uploading! I like the 540p version better. It’s not that much bigger in size but the quality is heaps better than 360p. 🙂

  15. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

Please upload the next episode, I really want to watch it. Jimmy lin and Kimi so cute… Can you tell me now at China what episode is airing?

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

I’m not certain but I think this show broadcast once per week (every Friday). We’re still early in the game, and all caught up here.

Well, if you had voted for LQ version then those normally release same day as air date. However, MQ version won by a landslide, LOL, so these release days after air dates. That’s just how the encoders roll.

If you want more then there are highlights and parenting lessons besides current episodes on this site: baba qu na er?

  16. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

I like it very much especially Kimi and Jimmy Lin.Jimmy Lin is a famous singer and professional race driver in China. All in all, they’re more cute and real than Korean version.

  17. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

Ohhh… I need HQ it is okay if late as long as you always upload the next episode. I will waiting the next episode. Thank you very much.

  18. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

Keane is correct, as always. One episode per week on Friday. The latest is episode 4. 540p version is released late Saturday’s night so I usually have it up by Sunday.

Anyone wants a copy of the kids and their papas on variety show Happy Together? Let me know!

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

i do, but i need the english version. i have watched raw video but i dont understand the language. i wonder why i didnt see jimmy lin’s wife in that show?

      • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

  19. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

i just finished episode 3 and awwwwwwww i love that they use gege, mei mei, and jie jie when addressing each other. it’s like the equivalents for oppa and nuna in korean. is there similar terms in japanese?

rock becomes the leader in this episode which surprised me cause he was annoying in the previous two. angela is such a princess when she spits out the water. LOL

cindy is soooooooo sweet sharing her sausages with angela and making sure her dad get some too.

kimi and his fixation on the egg toy. the KID JUST TURN 4?!!! omg.

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

Yup, born 2009. The maknae of the bunch.

Hurry, finish episode 04; I liked this episode more. Lemme know what you think of it.

      In Japanese? Aniki(-kun) = Oppa = GeGe? Onee-chan = Noona = JieJie?

      • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

what’s youngest in chinese Keane? feel like we should use chinese term since it’s more appropriate for a chinese show. that way i can pick up a few words. 😛

i need subs keane!!! i hope it’s possible to get softsubs for this show as i’ve been downloading the raw from here. please please release softsub someone!

        • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

小_(blank)_ = the youngest (something), which in this case, 小弟 (xiao di, youngest bro). This is commonly used, more like in large clans like in my family we still honor ranking with a numbering system. In short, the youngest is always called xiao di/mei and the older kids have titles ranked by numbers, i.e. first born, second born, etc. Is there such a term of endearment like maknae in Chinese? Literally speaking maybe 最小 (zui xiao?, the youngest) but that’s hardly endearing however saying xiao di and xiao mei being as endearing literally aren’t the same. I know there’s one in Vietnamese, út. It sounds cuter in languages other than Chinese. LOL~ Am I making sense? Pardon for my lack of expertise. I don’t mind passing the torch of knowledge to another in my place.^ ^!

In the Chinese version, the kids speak casually with one another. Have you noticed? I rarely hear honorific terminology. Pity, really. If you notice, the kids just call out one another’s names. They don’t constantly add title reference like ge/jie/di/mei, and I don’t blame them. These kids don’t have siblings… yet, to practice on, so they aren’t accustomed by it. Sad to think they might not have close cousins either. I blame the parents more though, if you notice, the fathers aren’t teaching their kids properly how to address other children in reference to that. Heck, the fathers aren’t showing the same respect towards one another. Hmm, I wouldn’t be surprised if the kids end up calling one another comrades (tong zhi).

Maybe it’s because of the one child policy China implement for controlling overpopulation, and I’d like to think Communism plays an important part to their upbringing as well. It’s not a terrible thing to have more kids, I hear people who decide to have a set of children void receiving the premium benefits from their government, and that also reflects being in a higher tax bracket.

Oh, I see. I hope Esther shares her softsubs soon.

          最小的

  20. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

I don’t think those kids are impolite. It’s normal not to add title reference with friend. Just calling out one another’s names shows that they are close. Different from Korean, we are less focus on the honorific terminology.

Sorry for my poor English .

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

The encoding group hasn’t released Episode 8 yet, unfortunately. And I dislike uploading multiple versions. Since I like the quality of SHDPAD, I’ll wait. 🙂

  26. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

D’awww, love the twitter pic of Jimmy and Cindy teaming up, Kappy. So he picked a princess instead of a diva? LMAO~ Can’t wait to catch up on this show. I’m curious how good of a pops Jimmy is to a make-believe-daughter.

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

so i watched this one raw to see the differences. Sky’s papa and rock’s papa are good at handling another child. tian lang is next, then jimmy, then angela’s father (LOL, he was sleeping in the car!)

cindy cried the majority of the episode, it gave me a headache. how much water did she drink for her to cry like that? i expected tears from princess angela and little kimi, so cindy was a surprise. jimmy didn’t know what to do at all. lols.and he looked slighyly annoyed…..or frustrated. and silly sky screamed after going through the hiding. omg. this kid.

rock is getting better at this. he doesn’t annoy me anymore. maybe it was the broken arm that made him grumpy and irritiable in the first few episodes.

kimi is like the second princess in this group. i laughed so hard when the girls are cleaning his muddy foot. 😀

  27. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

I figured out why this show is so short.

It started in October, right? That’s around the beginning of autumn. Now it’s December, it’s ending, and we’ve already passed into Winter.
Basically, it’s so short because it was to last only one season.

Such a shame, I love this show and the cast! It really should last longer… 🙁

  28. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

    Hello,

Are there no more episodes for Chinese dad where’s we going? I waited for longest time.

TY if you can help. Happy Holiday.

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

It says here that there are only 12 episodes, the 12th one just came out on the 27th.
A movie will be released about the cast’s trip to the zoo.
After that will be season 2 with new families.

  29. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

There will probably be a 2nd season with new fathers and kids. Because it said in the 12th episode it was the end of the 2013 season, so there might be a brand new 2014 season in January. Just a guess from me and my family.

  30. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

Oh, and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Ho-Ho-Ho!

  31. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

Me too. I hope the subber continues soon. I feel sad not seeing anymore, but I also feel bad to bother the subber.
      It’s such a catch-22.

      1.5 hours long!?! more than expected^ ^

  33. 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

Will season 2 you upload? I already watch on Happy camp the cast for season 2.

    • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

Most likely yes but I’m a bit worried and hesitant because the kids are so young. I prefer them to be around Cindy’s and Tian Tian’s age, you know, because it’s the best ages to learn and retain. Too bad our Captain Kool’s wife doesn’t want her adorable son & husband to be on the show unsupervised. What could this mean? heh.

But I’m so happy we have Captain Tong! The strict father.

      ROFL@Francis’ hair.

      • 62 thoughts on “Cvariety: Dad, Where Are We Going? Episodes (Chinese Ver.)

yes I am also worried about their age. but I think there are some kids almost the same age with Tian-tian anf Cindy. I saw yesterday just 2 kids are so young 3 years and 4 years. But I hope you will upload the second season from this variety show. I really like the kid that play on autmn concerto.
