Cute OTP but slappity trailer: Return of the Heiress

 photo Her5.jpg
Do you see the pattern? Korea is not the only country with unhappy Inheritors. We have an heiress right here!

Return of the Heiress (千金归来) is the upcoming Cdrama with a recycled plot. The drama is based on a novel, so hopefully the writer has a solid writing to shoot its lovable OTP into stardom. They are uber cute in the stills below. And then I saw the trailer and a long train of nononono came out! The plot in a nutshell: Mother’s mysterious death is not an accident. Stepfather and mistress + step sister (I know! It runs in the gene!) work together to swallow the company, kicking the poor heiress out. Betrayed by those she once loved, our girl promises to get them back. One thing to note about the trailer: Slapping is a common method of greeting. Who wants to count the number of painful greetings? By the end of the drama, all has given and received kabang to their faces. Though most of the slaps look silly and terribly fake. Do we need a Slapping 101 here? But it’s comforting to know that our heroine also dishes out the five fingers. *thumbs-up*

The leading lady played by Li Qin. She’s here with her stepfather (Winston Chao) + step sister (Shin Min Hee). This girl looks like Zhang Zi Yi’s daughter! NO?

Li Yi Feng plays the childhood sweetheart, always by her side, through thick and thin, and some heartbreak. On the right is Lee Wei, to play a business man without clear intentions in his assistance to her return.

Stills of our cute OTP:

Put them in animal costumes and you have me giggling. This looks like the aftermath of being kicked out of her mansion. He’s also rich, I believe, so it’s cute that he’s doing all the Candy jobs with her. heh.

They’re even baking together! GAHHH!

Oy, the classic I-sprained-my-ankle scene. Too many cliches now writer!

And then of course it rains…. Cue piggyback! I swear we have some romantic gods always watching. XD

Back to their rich selves. I like that he isn’t the conventional handsome guy. This actor has a genuine, earnest aura about him in the stills.

OH GOSH! Don’t go breaking the puppy’s heart now, heiress!

The dubbing of Cdramas makes them really hard to like. The dubbing voices are really high-pitched and cartoony. The trailer drives me nut even though I like the main lady and she looks really cute with the guy.

    /Sigh

I’ve really come to like the song they play in this drama. There was even a romantic 2 minute music video of the OTP with the song playing in the background. It begins with “Oh my darling…” Does anyone know what it’s called or where I can download it?

Only saw the ripped version from youtube (with characters talking). Its Shadow sang by our female lead.

Are you watching this drama, Kricket?

Yeah, I’m watching it pretty closely, though entirely for the OTP because they’re absolutely adorable with palpable chemistry. The storyline is your basic drama on drama with one-note villains. I did find the song ripped too, but was hoping for the full version. I’ll probably just have to wait but thanks!

Okay…not sure if anyone still follows this post…but if you do please help me out…I seriously don’t understand the ending.

It seems like writers went in the same direction as Best Time, with Wallace Chung.

Is it meant to be open ending or is there a special episode that follows which I haven’t managed to find yet?

Trust me, you’re not the only one puzzled or confused to whom the heiress=(TT) ended up with. Heard that in the book version, TT ended w/ the business man. However, in the drama adaptation the producer and writers could not come to an agreement to whom TT should be with in the end. Hence, we were given the what the heck ending that left us viewers frustrated

My analysis would be TT ended w/ LH. She was definitely moved by the businessman but not really falling for him romantically. She may of agreed to give the businessman a chance but the minute LH showed up w/ the bouquet of sunflowers that “yes” went out the window. What got my nerves more was LH’s mom, a piece of work. Hello? She should respect her son decision on who he wants to spend the rest of his life with and not what she thinks is best for him. Can’t believe she went as far as mailing a postcard to the orphanage house (where TT often volunteered) that LH was getting married. From there on, my thumb was on the FF button and stopped at the last 5 minutes. Feel free to tell me your interpretation. Discussion are welcome

I was hoping there would be a ‘pick your own ending’ type situation with Specials…oh well…

I totally agree, the businessman was a choice of convenience. If she follows her heart then it would be LH (my hope is that’s what her final facial expression indicates).

The ending honestly made me laugh. It’s like the businessman set it all up expecting her to say yes without a fail and then out of the blue, who arrives but LH. Conniving, manipulative mums seem to be the trending thing for the year that this was aired…it’s quite disturbing really O.o

I couldn’t watch most of the drama…I probably skipped half the episodes and fast forwarded 1/3 of the rest. It was painful to watch with the similarities this had to other dramas. Knowing the ending wasn’t going to be nice really didn’t help.

But on re-thinking this…her and the businessman deserve each other LOL.

LH does so much for her but she’s so set on taking over that she doesn’t care…like there’s moments of their love and relationship but I can’t help but feel he’s too good for her.

I just finished this and needed someplace to rant about the ending lol but I would disagree. I think that even though TT like LH up to the second to last episode, I felt as though when she was about to fall off the building she kinda found out she actually loved the business guy more than she thought. Hence that hug. And even though I primarily watched this drama for Li Yi Feng. I felt that the other guy was better suited for her and has also done so much for her. Even though the scenes between LH and TT were cute, I felt that LH didn’t add very much to the overall plot.

There’s no doubt about it that the businessman is better suited for TT since they have similar career. But if I were to choose, LH will still be the one since he’s so charming yet love her unconditionally despite the long and rough road she took in order to take back what belonged to her family. Hence, the title to this long tv drama which basically spelled what this tv show was about. TT only let go of LH was b/c she didn’t want to see LH turning his back on his family for her. Truth is, I don’t think she ever stop loving LH. They were very much in love with each other
