I, for one, find this soundtrack haunting me very much lately XD. It’s not your typical Chinese melody but a collaboration of East meets West, Folk meets Contemporary, so the symphony is AMAZING!

I had to watch this being a Painted Skin (1) original fan, and somewhere in the back of my mind I couldn’t resist my angst hoping for Zhao Wei and Chen Kun’s Hua Mulan reincarnation finally get together… like, when people? When? I want to burn my Hua Mulan dvd for being so anti-Disney. This movie must bring me back to being a normal optimistic movie-goer, by fulfilling my hunger where Hua Mulan left me anorexic, right? C’mon, the General… and his Disney Princess? Wait. Wrong genre. Well, close enough, right? You can be the judge of that. Those who’ve seen Painted Skin (2) The Resurrection can answer for me. And don’t be surprised if you join my ship getting this Harry Potter clashes with Final Fantasy vibe going for this entire movie. What is your take on it (either OST, film, or both)?

    Loved both movies but found the element of the priest/voodoo guy out of place in painted skin II. I do love the fact that the 2nd movie show/follow through with the consequence of the fox demons action from the opening of the movie. Can i ask why pw for painted skin ii ost only obtainable through tweeter? Would like ost but don’t do tweeter/Facebook 🙁

      I personally don’t do t/fb either, but since our ship here has a twitter page running then I want to promote us running a tight ship.

      Don’t take it personal. I took the effort to find HQ sounds and shared it here so I just wanted to note an exclusivity. Haha! You can find its OST elsewhere w/o pw through a search engine at lower sound quality, if that helps. SMILE.

    This is a pretty good soundtrack. So is the movie, though I agree with those who say it seems to have some kind of clash of cultures in it – at least for the music part. I don’t have a particular opinion on the movie, because I just took it for what it is: a nicely made fairy tale.
    I’d love to get the password to be able to listen to this soundtrack in a better quality than what I’ve got so far.
